At some point in time every writer feels that he or she has become stagnant and completely run out of any new or creative idea. Writing is not a normal kind of job, you don’t have to go to office daily and following the routine is tough, especially if someone is working from home, which many professional writers do. Working from home has many disadvantages along with advantages. If you area female writer and have children’s, you feel compelled to manage their needs due to maternal instincts rather than focus on your writing. This is also true for most male writers. In this situation writing sometimes takes a backseat. This can be a very frustrating experience.

Writing retreat is the best way to tackle this crisis. It offers a chance to break away from your normal routine and concentrate only on your writing. It is a place where you can immerse yourself completely in the writing process. Initially, some writers may reject the idea of a writers retreat. They feel strange by the fact that they can write 24 hours a day and they have to do nothing else, expect for writing. Initial silence or loneliness may be a deterring factor for some writers. But after going through this initial period, most writers experience a sudden burst of intense creativity. People seem to believe that writing is a simple job, but they are wrong. Some times writing can exhaust you emotionally, if you are dealing with emotional subject in particular because you have to go through each and every emotion that your characters are going through, to come up with an exceptional piece of work. The extent to which writing retreat can be helpful also depends on the personal nature of the writer. Ideal working condition varies from writer to writer. Some tends to work in a very solitary environment, locked within their room. On the other hand, some can write while doing things like chatting with friends and family and watching television.

The silence of writing retreat also helps the writer in exploring their inner source of creativity, since it is the only thing they can turn to for inspiration. The benefits of writing retreats are huge, but be careful before choosing the right one for you. Different retreats offer diverse range of services. For example, some are lonelier than others.
