What is image upload?

 Print this page

Author: Jeffrey Arcones

Image upload has turned out to be among the most popular preoccupations of the "citizens" of the world-wide web. For those of you who don't know, image upload entails the load or transfer of a soft-copy image file (that is, virtual files) from a private source - a personal computer or terminal - to a public virtual space - a bulletin board or a central computer. More often than not, the purpose of the upload is to be able to share files that are far too large to be sent via email and other more conventional means of file sharing. Also, it must be noted that "image upload" is not at all limited to picture files: video and flash are also considered by some as image files, and as such, image upload has proven itself to be beyond JPEGs and other still image files.

These days, everyone has images to share - digital images of family and friends, videos of an event, multi-media art digitized - and because of this, it is not at all surprising that several sites and services have dedicated themselves to becoming virtual spaces in which a person can upload their images for sharing convenience. That being said, ImageUpload.Com strives to be your guide to everything image upload - from a detailed listing of image upload services, to image upload script tutorials and even tips on how to efficiently upload your images. Share your vision of the world - upload your favorite images.

Free Image Uploads

For those of you who don't know, there are many image upload sites and services that require you to pay for any image that you have filed for storage or uploading. These sites, of course, tend to have more features and have better services in terms of storage, but if you happen to want to have your image hosted for only a short period of time, you probably wouldn't want to have to pay for it. As such, there are sites that allow free image uploads that are supported by several servers (instead of a singular server, as is the case with sites that require you to pay on a monthly basis), which in turn allow for greater bandwidth for the benefit of their users.
