Now of course there are plenty of legit sites that are out to give good advice or products; but the amount of results is an indication of just how many sites that are out there, that could possibly be harmful.

What is very apparent when surfing through these sites is the vast amount of pills that are on sale over the Internet. These range from diet pills to energy pills with just about every other reason for taking a pill to reduce weight loss etc. Next after pills in the search engines. comes the consultation and work plans etc. "loose x amount of weight in x amount of days" etc. What you will find with most of these sites is that they will want your personal details etc. Then you will find your email inbox swamped with all kinds of offers that are specifically targeted to you.

Not forgetting the vast array of problems that some of these sites throw up; one really malicious area is the personal targeting into your email. If for instance you are very vulnerable about your weight then you also become vulnerable to receiving Viruses and Spyware to your computer. Those attachments that are showing up fast and furious have most likely come from some information that you had given in good faith to one of these sites. This article is not saying that these sites generated these attachments but some of these sites sell their database of information to the highest bidder and from there on it's a throw of the dice to just who has your information.

What can one do about this huge area and problem that is happening with "Weight Loss" and other areas of interest? If you feel vulnerable about your weight or something that is similar to what this article is about then the first tool you have to fight against these parasites is to become AWARE. Aware that you are being targeted in your vulnerability and it is for commercial gain.
