Faucets come in all models of, whether they're for your kitchen, bathroom of garage. There are actually the standard chrome faucets with compression type valves and there are those with ball valves. They are offered in all finishes like stainless steel and colored enamel finishes.

The basic parts of a faucet are:

There are a few faucets with compression valves that separate the hot as well as the cold. The one difference between compression valves and all sorts of other is that it sports a rubber washer at its base compressing against a valve, shutting from the water.

Others faucets have ball-type valves and so are generally found on single handle faucets. The ball valve behaves similarly as a car stick shift using the left and right controlling the temperature and the front and back controlling the flow of the water.

Another kind of faucet are those that have cartridge type valves. They are presented both in single and double handle styles. Double handle cartridge type faucets work very similarly to compression valves except with the less extra pressure utilized when closing the valve. For single handle cartridge faucets, this also resembles the ball-type valves apart from the flow is controlled by raising or lowering the handle.
