Dandruff problem is a common but difficult problem of our hair. Both women and men suffer from this problem. But we do not take this problem very seriously as it is quite familiar to us. In winter season this takes its maximum toll but in summer it makes itself hidden. So we suffer from this problem hugely in winter season. To know the solutions we must have to know the cause of dandruff and mainly have to know what dandruff is.

Actually your dandruff is nothing but the dead cells of your dried up scalp, which is pealing off. There are many ideas regarding the cause of dandruff. But the most accepted one is that dandruff is the dead skin cells, which develop on the scalp. Actually it is a natural process and is caused by the flaking of the scalp just as the rest of the body sheds dead skins, so does the scalp. But when this is shed at an excessive rate we call it the problem of dandruff. It is a general conception that dandruff is caused by a dry scalp. But this is not true. Oily scalp also cause dandruff, too much oil creates a layer on the scalp, which dries, thickens and flakes off in the form of dandruff. And dandruff transmits from one person to another if it comes in contact. So a person having dandruff should keep his towel, hairbrush, pillow, and comb separate from others and they should be cleaned regularly for better hygiene and protection from it. It is one of the most common hair problems. At times it is caused by some vitamin deficiency like Zink. The easiest way to tackle with this problem is using an anti-dandruff shampoo.

It causes bad itching on the scalp, which is equally embarrassing. It often cause hair fall, as the scalp cannot breathe under the thick layer of dead skin. Now, how to get rid of this problem?

There are chemical and natural cures of dandruff but natural cures are far safer and friendly. You can massage the Scalp with pure coconut oil. This will also help for growth of hair. Apply coconut oil, which has been boiled with small onions. Wash it off with a mixture of green gram powder and water drained from cooked (boiled) rice. Apply a mixture of almond oil and gooseberry juice with fingertips on the scalp. Apply the warm mixture of olive oil, lemon juice and coconut oil. Do a steam -towel- wrap for 15 minutes and wash the hair with a shampoo. Apply a paste of fenugreek and mustard to the scalp. Mix Shikakayee powders with the water drained from the cooked rice and wash the hair with it. Crush the leaves of five-petal hibiscus flower and take the juice. Wash the hair with this juice. Heat the oil with a little camphor. Apply the oil in the scalp and massage for 10 minutes. After 30 minutes wash the hair with an herbal shampoo. Do the steam -towel- wrap for 15 minutes.
