She stole away with the prince and sought refuge at a Jain governor's place in Kumbhalgarh. 17 years later, Udai Singh was coronated at Kumbhalgarh and led combined forces of Mewar and Marwar to win back his throne.
Udai Singh later founded the city of Udaipur, which is considered the most romantic city of Rajasthan. Lake Palace of Udaipur stands on a small island on Lake Pichola surrounded by lush greenery. Its delicate filigree and window screens along with several other architectural features make it one of the best venues for grand royal weddings of Rajasthan.
