For using your water bottle to telling tales to the boss or being a bully, Colleagues can often be annoying. It's best to have a one-on-one conversation. This is mostly lacking in colleages at the office. There is a miscommunication or communication gap in people. Biasness is also an issue which needs attention. Many get the job which actually is not at all according to their qualification. Some highly qualified people get a low dignified job. All this create ego problems in colleagues and ultimately leads to mismanagement and company's malfunctioning. It also affects persons causing him or her depression, anxiety and burn out symptomen (burnout symptoms). Though the management of the company tries to control the situations, it is better every individual tries to make an effort and clear the air.
This is easier said than done and calls for a lot of patience. The ugly confrontations can leave one with regrets later. The after effects of the anger and ego showed to the other person can be very dangerous. So it's advised to people to stay calm and understand the other and then judge. Depression and burnout preventie (burnout prevention) is preferred than suffering from it and then its cure. And if one is already in the trap then shouldn't expect instant results. One needs to be very tactful in this type of matters. The aim should be to sensitize one's problem.
One should remain unfazed by the situation when one feels harassed by the fellow colleagues. That would come from self-belief and through dedication to one's work. It would also prevent the office atmosphere from ruining. We need to handle ourselves. So one should be very polite to everyone, but too much interaction is not good. Voice your concerns firmly but politely for example if someone is talking on the phone say that person to lower his/her voice instead of just shouting at them or nagging about them. And if you face serious harassment by other colleagues then immediately report to the authorities about the problems you are facing. If no strict action is taken about that matter then as a last resort, change your department.
