UL80VT, the latest model of Asus laptop is sleek in shape, thin in edge and light in weight. Designed for professionals on the go, it is an outstanding performer with excellent battery life. I have made a review on the UL80VT to help you understand its compact configuration and precise function â€"
Design Chic and classy in design, the UL80VT flaunts a glossy surface with plastic finish on its aluminum backed lid. With a dimension of 1.1 inches in thickness, it dons the category of thin laptops. The inward chiseled sides are a complement to its skinny appearance. The only chink in the armor of the UL80VT is its poorly constructed chassis that is not sturdy in build.
Performance Performance is a standout facet of the Asus UL80VT. Having its functional core powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo SU 7300 Ultra Low Voltage Processor that runs at 1.3 GHz; the UL80VT can outsmart its rivals when the question is performance. With 3MB L2 cache, 800 MHz FSB Speed and 4GB RAM, it goes like a million bucks dollar. The processor can be upgraded to a speed of 1.73 GHz in order to boost the performance of this model from Asus.
Display The UL80VT features a 14-in screen, bright and glossy that offers a display with a resolution of 1366 X 768 pixels in a ratio of 16: 9. Glare problems surface on the screen in bright lighting. The contrast levels are not in proportion. The colors seem to fade out off and on. You can share the screen with a few others from the horizontal viewing angle. But, the screen does not offer an up-to-the-mark view from the vertical angle.
Graphics The UL80VT comes with a dedicated graphics card from Nvidia to impress you with its high-level performance. The graphics card helps the system save some power. With a memory of 512 MB GDDR3, the Nvidia GeForce G210 M is an ordinary graphics card that runs games with high settings efficiently. Upgrading the graphics card is what you need to do to play the latest 3D games comfortably.
Keyboard and Touchpad The keyboard of the Asus UL80VT lacks the feel that the splash resistant keyboard of the HP Probook series offer. Some of the keys are not compatible with fingers while typing. Those who mostly work on MS Word will miss the thrill of fast-paced typing. The touchpad offers friction in the slightest to facilitate the movement of the fingers on its glossy surface. The joint touchpad buttons make it difficult to get the desired clicking effect.
In a nutshell, the Asus UL80VT is a profitable purchase for budget-conscious consumers from such perspectives as performance and battery life. Though a pair of external speakers is recommended to complement the not-so-good sound quality, the UL80VT is sure to steal the show on strength of its good-performing functional being.
