In the music industry, the production is always done by the major record companies, sometimes small composers require large and expensive instruments, but how simple would be to create a great symphony using only a single computer?

The technology MIDI (Musical Instruments Digital Interface) is a closest approximation of the most straightforward way to create great musical compositions, unfortunately midi format is a fully digital format, and it is necessary to edit it with special software so the sound is not completely real and it all depends on the quality of the audio card.

Nowadays the audio cards required to create high quality recordings are quite expensive, but for an amateur composer, generally is virtually impossible to have the resources of a high quality audio card and without counting any software that also the price is quite high.

Fortunately, there is a very simple method and really cheap. First and foremost the composer needs to know about music theory and reading scores, otherwise would be useless a serious attempt to compose.

You only need a computer and some MIDI software to achieve an acceptable quality in your recordings in a matter of minutes.

The advantage of using the midi format for the compositions is the fact that it is digital and easy to edit, as there are many programs to edit midi's and the other advantage is that it is easy to convert to a sound format where each note is replaced by a real sound thus building a great musical work.

There are several programs that allow free conversion from the digital format "MIDI" to regular audio generally known as WAVE, WAV or MP3 format as well, it is difficult to get virtual sound instruments with quality on the network, wich are sampled sounds stored in a file, although there are some free instruments with a fairly good quality as Cadenza or Merlin sound banks and others with superior quality as Vienna Symphonic Library wich is not free.

The disadvantage is to take the dependence of this method of composition, but nothing and absolutely nothing can replace a real musician, is just a matter to see it as a tool.
