A very pertinent step in the safety process is a fast daily inspection of all of the equipment. A routine inspection should include the following: • Making sure that the bucket truck has all the pertinent stickers and decals around the boom area. Once you have performed the location inspection, there are safety guidelines that MUST be followed when in the bucket. They are: • Assure that all outriggers are positioned properly. • NEVER use a bucket truck in place of a crane truck. • Assure that the truck is on flat, stable ground. • NEVER allow the truck to be put in motion while the bucket is extended. • Do not pull or push anything while you are inside the bucket. • Putting a ladder in the bucket with you should never be done. • Protective gear should be worn at all times when in the bucket. • Never climb on the bucket’s edge. • Make sure both feet stay firmly upon the bucket floor. • Make sure no trash is cluttering the bucket floor. bucket trucks for sale When driving the truck, always keep to the speed limits and if not sure, always stay at a steady, slow pace.
