Author: Kapil Well when we talk about search engine, optimization it means optimization of complete site. This includes Image optimization as well. Many search engine optimizer understand the importance of image optimization and so have implemented it. If you are new to search engine optimization and want to know the trick to optimize Google images, then here are few of them:
* Name all the images on your website using Alt tag. In Alt tag insert a keyword or a phrase which is most relevant to the image. This gives the search engines an idea what the content is all about. For your images write a short description using the one of the keywords, which describes the image best.
* Next important this is when you save an image in the website folder, name it. Don't go by something "7jkl.jpg". Usually it is preferred to use the name used in alt text.
* To link an image it is good to use keywords instead of generic phrases. For instance, if image is about chocolate ice cream, then instead of writing click here or view here, write "chocolate ice cream picture".
* If a highly competitive word is used for naming the image then remove and upload the image from a different angle. This will make the image more relevant and improve the ranking.
* For naming the images use Google use JavaScript, this will prevent framing of your web pages. Hence, the visitor will see the complete site and not the image frames, when the image is clicked.
* To make your images standard compliant, you are required to include the alt tag, width, height and title for all your images.
