Opt-in email is the practice of having potential customers sign their name and their email address in a prescribed box in exchange for information about a product or service they are interested in.
Squeeze Page
This is done through the use of a squeeze page or a single web page designed expressly for the purpose of harvesting email addresses of interested prospects.
The squeeze page is a short marketing document that fits comfortably on the viewing screen and usually consists of several elements. The very first is a headline sentence designed to get the readers attention. The headline is followed by a sub headline that states a problem or need the prospective customer has. The sub-headline is followed by bullet points that generate more interest and further motivate the customer. Often there is an offer of a free report or information useful to the potential buyer. This is all followed by a sign-in box that asks for the person’s name and email address.

Those updated emails will generate from an autoresponder program you should have in place designed for that purpose. This program will have a series of follow up emails that you have created and will send them out at intervals you have selected. Each succeeding message suggests an action decision the prospect should take as you motivate your customer to buy.
The autoresponder will build all the responses from your squeeze page into a customer master list. That list is a vital part of your business operation. Lists create the customer base necessary for your sales. They provide the basis for future sales. These customers are your lifeline to referrals and future sales since you will maintain a relationship with them via email.
Another of the functions of the autoresponder is to avoid having you accused of spamming. The generation of unwanted emails is very serious and can put you out of business. The role of the autoresponder cannot be understated for the home business owner. It is a vital tool in the creation of your customer base and should be one of the first tools you choose in the set up of your home business.
