He has proposed. You have agreed to marry me. Your families have been already told. The date has been set. Now comes the time to start the initial plans for that big, big day just a few months away. In the old days, the first thing to do would have been to hire a professional wedding planner to make all the arrangements to make the wedding all the more memorable. But today, more and more people are getting hands-on with wedding preparations. This is especially true because there are so much information on wedding preparations and arrangements that you can get very easily on the web. What's more, when you plan your wedding on your own, you have total control over everything there is to your wedding. Plus, you can also test your organizational skills! And when you start the planning, the first step you should take is to find the perfect wedding theme.

There is a very logical reason as to why this should be your first ever step. This is because everything about your wedding centers on your theme. Thus, from that step, the logical sequence of steps would then follow. For starters, when you have your wedding theme all set, you can incorporate your theme in the centerpiece that you will be using. Your wedding decorations can then be patterned to your theme. Your songs for your wedding play list can even be matched to your theme. Wedding decorations and wedding favors can certainly be picked out more easily when your theme has been chosen already!

But when it comes to choosing that perfect wedding theme, well, that is certainly another process. Being the bride, your husband-to-be just might let you get away with whatever theme you want for your wedding. Still, it would be so much better to get feedback from your man. This is also his big day, after all. And this would be the very first day that both of you would be sharing his last name, so he should certainly have a say on the theme for your wedding.

Just talk it out. Share whatever ideas you have with him. It would be better to go through common interests and hobbies that you can use for your theme. Let us say, hypothetically, that both of you are into heavy metal music. So, you could decide to have a heavy metal theme! But if this is too much, well, you can go a more traditional theme. All the same, the quest to find the perfect wedding theme is an experience both of you should share.
