In golf, the clubs that you use can have a major influence on how far you can hit your ball and how much control you have over the ball’s flight. Woods and irons each have their own usage on the golf course, with woods typically being used to drive the ball straight over long distances due to the ease of hitting the ball with the wood’s face, while irons give a bit more control but lack somewhat in the distance game and in regards to the ease of hitting the ball. Hybrid clubs combine aspects of both woods and irons, providing golfers with a club that provides the control of an iron with the ease of hitting that one would expect from a wood.

Hybrid clubs generally feature heads that are similar in shape to woods, though they are made of different materials and are usually a bit shallower than their wood counterparts. The shafts tend to be shorter than that of a wood driver but are slightly longer than standard irons, allowing similar swing mechanics to those of irons to be used. Hybrid clubs are often used to replace irons 1 through 4, though some golfers carry only a single hybrid for use when they need an easy hit but want to keep the ball close to the ground.

Calloway X-Series Hybrids

Calloway X-Series hybrid clubs can be used to replace irons 1 through 5, either individually or as a set. Different shaft options which are available allow you to choose clubs with either a regular flex or a stiffer flex, giving you the precise amount of control on your hits that you want. You can buy Calloway X-Series hybrids in either left-handed or right-handed varieties so that you will be able to experience the advantage of hybrid clubs regardless of the dominant hand in your grip.

Adams Golf Hybrids

Adams Gold offers multiple hybrid club options for both right-handed and left-handed golfers to choose from. The Adams Golf Idea A1, A2, and A3 are all part of Adams Golf’s i-Wood product line, which combines the control and precision of an iron with the driving force of a wood. These clubs are available in standard sized and oversized models, allowing golfers additional options when it comes to the head size of their clubs. Club face angles ranging from 16 degrees to 26 degrees are available, letting golfers use i-Wood clubs to replace their 1 to 5 irons with hybrids. Lite-, regular-, and stiff-flex shaft options are also available.

Nike Hybrids

A master when it comes to sports equipment, Nike’s hybrid club offerings are sure to impress. Nike hybrid clubs such as the SQ Sumo2 and the Slingshot are designed to offer unique features such as a lower center of gravity and creative designs that will put you at the top of your game. The Slingshot is designed using a carbon crown to adjust the weight distribution of the club head, placing 70% of the head’s mass below the center of the ball so as to give more loft with each swing. The SQ Sumo2 uses a unique square design and generous offset in order to create a significant amount of stability at impact, resulting in balls that launch high and land soft. These Nike clubs are available as replacements for up to a 6 iron.

Tour Edge Bazooka Hybrids

The Tour Edge Bazooka GeoMax and JMax hybrids are designed to have a higher moment of inertia, resulting in a more powerful swing with a lot of forgiveness that will place your ball exactly where you want it to lie. These clubs are designed to have a low center of gravity, placing the majority of the club head’s mass toward the bottom of the ball while still featuring a large enough head to make hits easy. The mass distribution is one of the contributing factors in the clubs’ high moment of inertia, maximizing the amount of force that’s transferred to the ball upon impact and helping the club to resist twisting in a golfer’s hand during their swing to ensure proper shot alignment. Bazooka hybrids are available in a range up to 28 degrees, allowing them to replace irons up to a 6.

Orlimar Hybrids

The Orlimar X3 hybrid is designed with two weighted inserts in the back of the club head, shifting the X3’s center of gravity and maximizing its moment of inertia to ensure a solid hit and a powerful swing. Available in regular flex and stiff flex varieties with either a 19 degree or 22 degree face, the X3 can be a great addition to your golf bag as a replacement for either a 3 iron or a 4 iron.
