Author: John Ray Daniels Postcards in today's market industry still play a critical role in promoting products or services. If there is one material that a lot of business owners still use these days, that would be the postcards. Nothing can still beat the portability and effectiveness of these cards, not to mention their affordability. There are some things though that you have to keep in mind if you want your cards to achieve the best result for your business.
Keep your message short and straightforward.
As much as possible your message should not be more than six sentences. Anything longer than that can discourage your customers from read the entire message. It is important that you let your prospects and customers know what you have to tell them at first glance. Capture their interest by telling them your offerings and what they can benefit from your business in just a short time. Later on, expand the message by providing one benefit or two to support your message. This will surely help your customers understand better what you are trying to tell them.
No envelope is needed for your cards.
The good thing about post cards is that they can be sent alone without an envelope. This would allow your cards to stand out and get picked first in the mail box. Just be sure to design your cards colorfully and attractively so people notice them. Pick the right colors and images, and you can be sure to create a design that will pack a lot of marketing value.
Add something valuable in your cards.
This can in the form of a discount, redeemable item, incentive, or anything that would encourage your customers and prospects to hold on to your cards. It doesn't have to be something too elaborate. Just put something that your customers will find valuable.
Use First Class mail.
Show your customers that you value them by sending your cards through First Class mail. In doing so, they will feel valued, thus, increasing your chance of encouraging them to buy from your business. It's best if you check out the postage rate in your area first before mailing your cards to set a budget for the mailing cost.
As much as possible keep your design simple.
In business, simplicity sells. In most instances, a simple design sells more than a fancy and elaborate one. Just pick one image to include in your cards. Keep in mind that there is not enough space in your card to include a lot of images. Likewise, pick just one or two colors to ensure that you don't confuse your readers on what image and message you want to convey. A simple font is also needed. Don't pick fancy fonts as this would only make it hard for people to understand your message. It is also recommended that you pick medium to heavy paper stock to guarantee that your postcard printing won't wear out easily.
Send your cards consistently.
In most cases, it takes at least seven times for your customers to receive your cards before they will respond. Repeated mailings will help you stay memorable to your customers and prospects so that when they need your products or services, you will be the first one they will think of.
