A good frame not only enhances the beauty of the subject but also protects it from any damage or depreciation. Frames today, are as diverse as the subjects they hold. Frames come in all sizes, shapes, textures, colors and designs. Knowing which frame would be best suitable for which picture involves little brainstorming and a bit of imagination.
If you are having a canvas painting of an eminent artist, the right frame for it would be a gallery frame. Gallery frames are usually attached to the edges of the canvas with the help of glue or nails which give the picture a firm look. Another suitable picture frame for canvas paintings is the float frame. Float frames come with some stretcher bars behind the canvas that make it look like as if the canvas is floating within the frame. For the budget concerned, gallery frames come cheaper as compared to the other types.
If art attacks are common in your family, get a kit frame. Kit frames come with the materials and instructions on how to join them together. You can choose the color and size of the frame that you desire to encase your very own pieces of art in like needlework, or hand-painted pictures on art paper. These picture frames are best for small craftworks that run in the family by the kids.
