Earlier studies indicated the value of soy protein in lowering blood pressure due to its phosphorus and phytochemical content. That milk products could do the same was proved by the study. Amino acids and enzymes found in them had the effect of lowering blood pressure.
Study Results Favorable For Healthy Living
Recent statistics highlight the fact that one in every five Canadians suffer from high blood pressure, which can lead to serious cardiovascular problems including heart attack and stroke. Several servings of fruits and vegetables can easily replace a high-carbohydrate diet, as people resorting to several helpings during the day are likely to feel less hungry. Fruits and vegetables rich in potassium help relax blood vessels and increase excretion of sodium from the kidneys.
People also have to watch out for sodium content in food. Most Canadians have to limit intake up to 2,300 mg. Age is another important factor, and individuals over 50 years old should try to avoid sodium. The ideal way to do it is to consume milk products, nuts and legumes.
